New cars have been added to the street cleaning service by the City Council. They cost close to 18,000 Euros and will replace older ones. First, to give operators lighter, more functional material that is perfectly suited to the city's characteristics, which will make it easier to do their daily jobs. The second goal is to alter the image of the city, by focusing on a more vibrant, lively and striking design that incorporates concepts like cleanliness, sustainability, and the declaration as a World Heritage City or Monuments. Ubeda is the most prominent.
They also have information about the new image of the trolleys, including the telephone number for the free furniture and household goods collection service. It is available from Monday through Friday. They also display the slogan "Help us keep it Clean", which aims to encourage citizens to work together in maintaining Ubeda's good image. This includes responsible and controlled use of the containers, the proper disposal of garbage, and the collection of trash within the set hours.
This initiative was initiated in response to the determination and commitment of the local administration in renewing and modernizing the cleaning service in an integrated manner. The Consistory of Ubet funded this investment, which amounts to about 1.7 million Euros. Francisco de la Blanca, Councilor for Parks, Gardens and Street Cleaning, stated this and presented the cars with Jeronimo Garcia, Councilor for Infrastructure Maintenance.
