A day after the announcement of troops withdrawal from Syria by U.S. President Donald Trump Minister of defense of Jim Mattis has announced his resignation. In a letter to Trump Mattis called on Thursday differences as the reason for his move: "you have the right to a defence Minister whose views are more in line with their views." It was, for him, that's why the "right" to resign.
Trump wrote in the short message service Twitter, Mattis will divorce by the end of February "with distinction" from the office. A replacement of the Pentagon-heads, since it was about two years in office, had it been longer speculation.
Trump announced on Wednesday, surprisingly, a full withdrawal of U.S. soldiers from Syria. The joined in the United States, but also allies in the fight against the jihadist militia Islamic state (IS) with a lot of misunderstanding.
General Jim Mattis will be retiring, with distinction, at the end of February, after having served my Administration as Secretary of Defense for the past two years. During Jim's tenure, tremendous progress has been made, especially with respect to the purchase of new fighting....
