Afghanistan, a step towards peace

Peace. The word was pronounced so many times, referring to Afghanistan, that it is hard to conceive of something real. The delegations of the United States and the Taliban, and guided by the sent of the White House Zalmay Khalilzad and mullah Baradar are really ready to sign an agreement in Doha, in the nineteen years since the american intervention after the attacks of 11 September. The spokesman of the “student drinks” has reported that every fighter needs to stop the military actions. The U.s. embassy in Kabul speaks of "the day, great for Afghanistan". And even the two rivals who vie for the presidency in Kabul – the head of State outgoing Ashraf Ghani and its premier Abdullah Abdullah , seem to be willing to heed to the request of Donald Trump and put the duel to join the negotiations, in view of a possible new division of power that it includes, inevitably, the Taliban, and ready, at least in appearance, to leave the armed struggle to join the common effort for the reconstruction.

the United States and fundamentalists agreed on two basic conditions: Washington will withdraw most of its troops from Afghanistan, the Taliban pledge not to allow the Country to harbor terrorist organizations decided to plan terrorist attacks abroad. In appearance, it is the necessary basis to then go forward with the negotiations, involving the government in Kabul. But it is clear that the capacity to contract is impaired, to say the least, if the context disappears, the possible protection of the military of the West. The use of force, at this point, it becomes more difficult for the recognized government, which can rely on its troops, but will mainly rely on the spread of fatigue for almost two decades of fighting. It is all too easy to predict that even after a general agreement on the “aftershocks” will be strong. But this time, a thread of optimism appears to be legitimate.
