The South Korean became world champion in the 200m freestyle on Tuesday in Doha. Hwang won in 1 min 44 sec 75. Bronze medalist last year and silver in 2022, the 20-year-old swimmer finally won the title, his first in the long course after two gold medals over the distance in small pool. He beat the Lithuanian Danas Rapsys (1 min 45 sec 05) and the American Luke Hobson (1 min 45 sec 26).
