From the 3rd minute of Sunday's match against Bayonne, the opening half of Stade Français Paris, Joris Segonds, was the victim of a violent knockout, hit in the head by an involuntary knee strike from the opposing center Guillaume Martocq. The Parisian flyhalf then collapsed to the ground, appearing to lose consciousness for a few moments, with a bloody mouth. The medical staff then quickly intervened and he was evacuated on a stretcher. He then waved his hand to reassure his teammates and Jean-Dauger's audience. Hospitalized immediately, Joris Jegons, his face marked, posted a message on his Instagram account in which he wanted to be reassuring: “It’s going to be okay,” he wrote.
