In 2022, you played the tournament qualifiers. A year later, you're in the top 40 and in the main draw...Arthur Fils: It can never go too fast. I'm in control, it's going quickly but it's good. It's a cruising speed that I like. Afterwards, if I can go faster, I will go faster. If at any point it has to slow down, it will slow down, it's not that serious. For now, I feel good and I'm very happy. I've wanted to play this tournament for a year, because I experienced great emotions last year. I'm really impatient, that doesn't mean that I'm going to win, it just means that I'm going to enjoy it, in a crazy atmosphere. The center court, I trained there once with “Manna” (Adrian Mannarino) last year, and the court seemed very, very big to me.

How would you rate your first season in the big leagues? It's a good season. I really liked what I did: first title at home (in Lyon on clay before Roland-Garros, editor's note), I experienced good atmospheres, good emotions, I made three Grand Slams this year... I'm missing the Australian Open. I had a good season, but I can do better. It was a season of learning, and hopefully next year there will be more learning. There are plenty of things I haven't done yet: I haven't been to the second week of a Grand Slam, nor to the third round, I've never been to the quarter-finals of a Masters 1000. .. There are a lot of things I haven't done. I'm looking forward to next year so I can make them.

You have decided to work with a new coaching duo, Sébastien Grosjean and Sergi Bruguera. What guided your choice? I'm starting to grow up, I have strong ambitions, the federation has helped me really well throughout my young career, at some point you have to take off. I have confidence in my choices, I hope it will pay off and that it will take me high. We must go a further step. What do I have ? Fifteen years of career (ahead of him). I have time but hey... I have fairly high goals and I have made strong choices that go with my goals. Both were excellent players, and coaches too. Living daily with champions will definitely help me.
