Sabalenka leads 6-2, 3-5, Rybakina service to follow. The match was postponed until the following day after suffering several interruptions due to rain.
The two players are competing for second place in their group, qualifying for the semi-finals of the competition, played on Saturday before the final on Sunday. The American Jessica Pegula, already assured of first place in the group, signed a third victory in as many matches in Cancun, against the Greek Maria Sakkari on Thursday (6-3, 6-2).
