Tennis: Caroline Garcia drops out of the Top 10, Sabalenka keeps the lead in the WTA rankings ahead of Swiatek News

Eliminated in the quarter-finals in San Diego on Thursday, Caroline Garcia left the Top 10 of the WTA rankings, still dominated this Monday by Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, a week after taking power. The 29-year-old Lyonnaise now ranks 11th in the world, after oscillating between fourth and fifth place throughout the start of the season until July.

A week after the US Open, the WTA Top 10 has changed little, with Aryna Sabalenka still in the top three, as well as Iga Swiatek and Cori Gauff. The American Jessica Pegula, without scoring any points, took advantage of those lost by the Kazakh Elena Rybakina to take fourth place from her.

The strongest progression in the Top 20 is that of the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, crowned at Roland-Garros in 2021, who gains three ranks and returns to the Top 10 (10th) thanks to her victory on Sunday at the San Diego tournament.

The French Alizé Cornet and Diane Parry are on the edge of the Top 100, respectively 97th and 98th in the world. Parry lost eight places this week, while Cornet gained two places. Among the other Blues in the Top 100, Varvara Gracheva, 44th, fell two places and Clara Burel, 65th, gained one.
