Swimming: promise kept for Team Lucas who carried out 36 hours of waste collection on the beaches of Marseille

Last June, on the occasion of the French Swimming Championships held in Rennes, a system created by MAIF and entitled “Every Medal Counts” was deployed: each medal won by a trained swimmer by Philippe Lucas had been converted into hours of waste collection.

Swimming: promise kept for Team Lucas who carried out 36 hours of waste collection on the beaches of Marseille

Last June, on the occasion of the French Swimming Championships held in Rennes, a system created by MAIF and entitled “Every Medal Counts” was deployed: each medal won by a trained swimmer by Philippe Lucas had been converted into hours of waste collection. During these Championships, Team Lucas Sport Planète won 19 medals, including 8 gold, and broke 3 French records, totaling 36 hours of collection.

Charlotte Bonnet, European champion and godmother of the event, but also many swimmers qualified at the recent Fukuoka World Championships, and Philippe Lucas, therefore mobilized, both on land and at sea, during this event combining sport and ecology.

Organized by MAIF and “1 waste per day”, this initiative is part of the Sport Planète movement which aims to encourage sports stakeholders to progress towards a more eco-responsible sport.
