Serie A: raising the humiliating banner over Hernandez was “a mistake”, admits Denzel Dumfries

The day after the intense celebrations in the streets of Milan, Inter player Denzel Defries posted on Instagram some photos from Sunday, accompanied by a message of joy and an apology after the banner controversy.

“Yesterday was the best day for me, all the players and everyone at the club. Thank you so much to the fans who came to the parade in their thousands. It was a pleasure to celebrate with you all,” begins Denzel Dumfries. He then admits to liking “rivalry in football” but “realizes that holding the banner was an error of judgment on my part and not smart at all”.

As a reminder, the Dutchman had collected a banner from the audience on which he could be seen holding Theo Hernandez on a leash. The two players seriously insulted each other during the Milan derby won by Inter (2-1). They both received a red card.
