The Springboks are creating lifelong memories. Fallers of the All Blacks in the World Cup final on Saturday evening, the “Sudafs” landed at Johannesburg airport on Tuesday morning. And to celebrate their return, thousands of Rainbow Nation supporters were waiting for them in the arrival terminal. Scenes of collective euphoria took place, at the end of which Siya Kolisi brandished the Webb-Ellis trophy and presented it to his people.
The reigning double world champions will begin their journey across the country on Thursday, to meet their supporters with a big parade. The opportunity for the nation of Nelson Mandela to experience a moment of collective jubilation, and to celebrate the fourth coronation in the history of the Springboks.
