Horrible drama this Saturday. During the clash between the top two in the Albanian championship, KS Egnatia Rrogozhinë and FK Partizani, Ghanaian international Raphael Dwamena died on the field, in the middle of the match, following a cardiac arrest. The emergency services present near the pitch were unable to resuscitate the attacker who died at the age of 28.
The match was subsequently interrupted. Former Red Bull Salzburg player Raphael Dwamena had suffered from numerous heart problems in the past. An automatic defibrillator was fitted to him in 2020. The native of Nkawkaw was also unable to join England and Brighton in 2017 because of his health problems. All the clubs where Dwamena played during his career paid tribute to him this Saturday, like FC Zurich, Zaragoza and Levante.
