The 2024 edition of the CIC Mont Ventoux will not take place due to the passage of the Olympic flame, the organizers of the cycling race announced Thursday.
“The CIC Mont Ventoux will not take place in 2024. We are passing the baton to the Olympic flame which will cross Vaucluse and climb to the summit of Mont Ventoux in June,” the organization said in a message posted on X ( formerly Twitter).
The 2023 edition, the fifth of this one-day race for climbers, the finish of which is judged at the summit of the Géant de Provence, was won by the young French hopeful Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ), then aged 19 years ago, on June 13.
