French climber Oriane Bertone validated her ticket for the 2024 Olympics by winning the European climbing qualification tournament in combined bouldering and difficulty, Sunday in Laval (Mayenne). First in the bouldering and third in the difficulty test, Bertone, 18, largely dominated the final with a total of 171.9 points, ahead of the Serbian Stasa Gejo (148.5 points) and the Italian Laura Rogora (145 .7 points).One of the favorites of the competition, Oriane Bertone had already shone by taking first place in both the qualifications and the semi-final, driven by an excellent bouldering course, as in the final where it brought her 99.9 points.
Only first place in this tournament offers direct qualification for the Paris 2024 Games. Fourth at the end of the block, the other Frenchwoman in this final, Zélia Allez, finished the tournament in 5th place (136.7 points ). Later in the day, the men's final will see eight climbers compete, including the French Sam Avesou and Mejdi Schalck, who arrived 4th and 7th respectively in the semi-final, crushed by the British Toby Roberts, 18 years old.
