AC Milan winger Rafael Leao was quickly released against Lazio Rome on Saturday's Serie A matchday 34 after a muscle scare four days before the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milano.
The Portuguese complained of pain in the upper right thigh after a first acceleration on the left side. After a few moments of discussion with the Milanese management, he was replaced by the Belgian Alexis Saelemaekers (11th), perhaps as a precaution for the big meeting on Wednesday.
Rafael Leao has been the Milanese's N.1 offensive weapon for two years, and was a great architect of the Italian championship title last season. He is regularly decisive again this season, as in the quarter-final of the Champions League against Naples (1-1) where he was a decisive passer in the first leg (1-0) as well as in the return (1-1).
