The used market, the 2019 closes well News

After a year, between high and low, the used car market has also filed the 2019 with the positive sign, recording a further increase of the ownership of +0.5% on 2018 and up 14.5% on the 2015. It is, however, a slower growth compared to recent years (by 4.7% 2018/2017 and +4.7% in 2017/2016), but higher than the trend of sales of new cars to private individuals (by 0.1 on 2018%).

According to the picture that emerges from the Observatory of AutoScout24, Italy confirms itself as a territory important for the used market, along with other european Countries that have closed the 2019 growth such as the Netherlands (+1,1%), or in Germany, which has instead confirmed the result of the previous year. On the contrary, a decrease in Austria (-0,3%) and in Belgium (by 0.9%).

The diesel continues to be by far the preferred choice, while the hybrid cars, especially plug-in hybrid, and electric-also represent a market that is still in the initial phase. The average price of cars offered on the market is equal to 13.715 euro – a figure significantly lower than Countries such as, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands -, but that comes at 25.815 eur for electric cars, and to 27.060 to the hybrid. The average age of cars sold is 8.2 years, and among the most requested models ever once again confirms the Volkswagen Golf, while the hybrid stands out the Toyota Auris and between the electric Tesla Model S.

According to the processing of the Centre for Studies of AutoScout24 on the basis of the data of ACI, in 2019, versus 2018, the transfer of property have risen +0.5%, reaching 3.102.893 acts. Between the capitals of the region, the first places for number, we find Rome (230.908 steps), Naples (144.854) and Milan (135.402), but if you compare the data with the resident population of age, you can see how the podium steps once again to the Trento and 866 steps of the property every 10 thousand inhabitants, Aosta (eur 747.5) and Perugia (684,4). Tail Genoa (474), Milan (503,1) and Florence (513,7).

If the new diesel has recorded a contraction of well the -22,2% compared to the year 2018, the used fuel will once again be the preferred choice. According to the data of ACI, in fact, in 2019, the market share of diesel is 51.1%, with a growth of +3.3% compared to the previous year. Confirmed also from the internal analysis of AutoScout24: 59% of the total requests received from the users in 2019 regarding diesel vehicles. In all regions the demand for diesel-powered cars more than half of the requests, with peaks in the region of Puglia (71%), Basilicata (68%), Umbria (66%) and Molise (66%).

And the green? The internal numbers of AutoScout24 show how this used market is still in its infancy, with values of requests on the total of only 1.1% for the hybrid car, and 0.3% for the electrical one given by the context with the higher average price as conventional cars, and the limited availability of used for these models.
