A new simulator capable of optimizing the stages of the development and testing of the new tyre, reducing the time. It is the new frontier crossed by Pirelli, a new technology which reduces of about 30% the average time for the development of new tire, both street and motorsport, by using virtual prototypes for different car models.

The simulator is manufactured by VI-grade and is composed of one cylindrical shield with an extent of 210°, and a diameter of 7.5 m to visually reproduce the different tracks and driving conditions. The system is fitted in the center of the screen of a car static, equipped with some of the technologies active to return to the real behaviour of the car to the driver, including the seat, steering, seat belts, and several of the shaker positioned in correspondence of the suspension and the engine.

Every operation is coordinated by a control room, from which you can insert in the simulator, the parameters of the various specifications of the tire and the vehicle, and monitor the results of the simulated tests, including the forces at the contact tire-road, and all the performance index of the tyre, as well as the subjective assessment of the inspector.

The activities conducted on this simulator integrates with the design of the dynamic simulator, which reproduces the lateral and longitudinal accelerations, in addition to rotations, and that will be installed at the Politecnico of Milan, with which Pirelli has worked for years.
