tough Times for those who want to buy a new car. According to the data of the Observatory on the search of online car portal DriveK, in the course of 2019, the average budget of the Italian families for the purchase of the car is reduced by 4%.

The study carried out by the leading european portal to the choice and configuration of new vehicles has shown that the average number expected by motorists italians was equal to 21.500 euro, with a decrease of about € 900 compared to the 2018.

The analysis was carried out on a sample of fifty thousand requests for quotation recorded in the course of the first eleven months of the year to choose the car that will satisfy their needs and their budget.

The research suggests that almost half of the requests (52%, against 50.1% in the detection of the 2018) is directed towards vehicles with a list price ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 euros; 38% of the total interested in vehicles between 20,000 and 40,000 euros, while only 4% (6.5% in 2018) has been oriented towards the purchase of vehicles by the cost of at least € 40,000.

Besides, as a confirmation of the time a little happy for the finances of motorists, local, grows from 2% to 4%, the percentage of italians on a limited budget and that, therefore, they preferred to move towards the cheaper vehicles on the market (less than 10,000 euros).

The differences of availability of expenditure vary then between region and region, and for the third consecutive year, the average amount is the higher budget allocated to the purchase is recorded in Trentino-Alto Adige (23.500 euros, or 1.8%.

Basilicata and Calabria store instead of the larger losses, amounting, respectively, down 7.7% and 7.3% in a year.

Between the provinces finally, Bolzano is at the top of the list, with a budget of € 25.100 euro, followed by Verona and Ferrara, respectively, attested to 24.400 and 24.200 euro.

“The data that emerged from the study – said Tommaso Carboni, Italy country manager of MotorK, the company that owns the portal DriveK – allow us to trace clearly the path of the purchase of the italians to grips with the new car to buy: it starts from the research and from the online setup for figuring out which vehicle you can aim with the budget available, subsequently factors, such as the dealers, trade-in and scrapping service, the offers of houses, cars, and any loans, that will often change the initial choice and, sometimes, also to reduce the overall expenditure”.
