A record with an increase of 10.8% compared to 2010, when the driving active stopped to share 35.3 million.

These data are the result of a processing of the Osservatorio Autopromotec on information of the national Account of infrastructures and transport, and highlight how the italians are reluctant to do less than move with their motor vehicles.

The study shows that the growth in the number of licences active affects virtually all of our regions and that in which it is registered the largest increase in the period 2010-2019 is the Trentino Alto Adige (+21,3%).

Follow in the ranking of a series of central-northern regions such as Lombardy (+19,3%), Emilia Romagna (+13,5%), Veneto (+12,6%), Marche (+11,4%), Lazio and Umbria (both +10.1 percent).

As the tail, and then with the lower growth of the number of patents, we find, instead, Liguria (+6,4%), Sardinia (+5,4%) and Campania (+4,6%).

Finally, at the regional level and by considering the absolute values of the 2019, the highest number of licence holders is located in the Lombardy region, with 6.5 million driver's licences, followed by Lazio (3.7 million), Campania (3.4 million), Veneto (3.3 million), and Sicily (3.1 million).
