Wimbledon's first place goes to Parrizas y Carballes

None of the Granada tennis players made it past the first round of Wimbledon. Nuria Parrizas lost 7-5 to Claire Liu, 6-3, in an hour and a half match, while Roberto Carballes lost 6-4 to Jordan Thompson, 6-1, 6-1, in a match that lasted almost two hours.

Parrizas demonstrated his inability to match the grass. Parrizas has also lost in round one of two tournaments that he participated in to prepare for the third Grand Slam tournament. He signed fewer winners and had a lower percentage than his opponent with the first service.

Carballes arrived at Winbledon having never played on grass before and could not compete with a more familiar player. His opponent had ten aces and won more points with her first serve. She also hit more winners, and made fewer errors. The Granada tennis player managed to break and equalize a bit in the first set. He was clearly inferior after that.
