Gerardo Ariel Menzeguez from San Lorenzo de Almagro is the current Copa Libertadores champion. He was this Tuesday's fourth signing for Jaen Paraiso Interior FS. According to the club, he has signed an agreement that will last until 2024 and another option.
The 29-year-old, also from Buenos Aires (Argentina), is positioned on the pitch's wing.
Menzeguez spent almost all of his career in San Lorenzo, a futsal team from Argentina. He won the title of Champion of America (Copa Libertadores), against Carlos Barbosa of Brazil in Montevideo in May 2021. His team won the Argentine Cup in 2018, and was awarded the title of AFA Tournament champion. They qualified for the Copa Libertadores in the next year.
He also played in the Italian League in 2020 at the Sandro Abate. This was part of the 20-21 season, scoring nine goals. He is also an international player with Argentina.
Among the many skills of the Argentine football player is his excellent ball kicking in both played situations and set pieces, technical quality, and good offensive reading. He is a left-handed wingback, who can play one-on-one and is very passionate about defensive work.
As a Jaen player, his first words were to praise the yellow club. "It was something I had been aiming for for a while. It makes me very happy. It was a great experience to play in the Spanish league.
He acknowledged that Jaen FS had attracted his attention for its large fan base and said that he was "without a doubt" drawn to a team that has great pretensions and surprised fans.
Menzeguez says that he is offensive in his game. He added. I like to take chances and try to solve the problem one-on-one. I will adjust to whatever the coach asks me. I will also be ready for anything.
The Jaen FSha announced Menzeguez and Chino's additions to their ranks.
