Collin Morikawa wins his second major title, the Open Championship

Collin Morikawa narrowly beat Jordan Spieth Jon Rahm, Louis Oosthuizen and Jordan Spieth to win Sunday's 2021 Open Championship.

This was Morikawa’s second major win of his career. In 2020, he won the PGA Championship.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, he is the second player who has won The Open Championship and PGA Championship. In achieving this milestone, he joined Tiger Woods.

He was playing at the event for the first time, just like he was last year when he won it.

He completed the last 31 holes at Royal St. George's with no bogeys. Spieth was two strokes ahead of him when he started the final round. He was one shot behind the leader.

Morikawa's score was his lowest in all 15 Open Championships played at Royal St. George's. After shooting a total of 67, 64 and 68 rounds in the first round, Morikawa scored a 66 in his final round.

Morikawa was 15-under par to win the tournament. Spieth was at 13-under, while Rahm and Oosthuizen were at 11-under. Dylan Frittelli, a South African pro, was fifth with a 9 under.

Spieth won earlier in the season the Valero Texas open and was second at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Rahm was just coming off a win at U.S. Open, while Oosthuizen placed second at the PGA Championship as well as the U.S. Open.

Fritelli's fifth place finish at Open Championship was his best result. He was fourth at the 2020 Masters.
