Reid endured non-life-threatening accidents, but two kids in a vehicle involved in the crash were severely injured, including one with life threatening accidents.

Head coach Andy Reid issued a declaration at a postgame press conference Sunday night, stating,"My heart goes out to those who were involved with the injury -- specifically the household with the tiny woman who's fighting for her life"

"And listen, it is a difficult situation -- I can not comment about it any more than that which I'm here -- therefore the queries which you have I am gonna need to turn down those in this moment," he continued. "But only from an individual perspective, my heart bleeds for everyone involved in this."

From the Chiefs' first statement, the group stated:"The company was made aware of a multi-vehicle accident between Outside Linebackers Coach, Britt Reid. We're in the process of collecting information, and we'll have no additional comment at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved."

The incident happened Thursday night in about 9 pm near the Chiefs' practice facility in the Truman Sports Complex, according to authorities.

Reid struck a vehicle that had run out of petrol on the side of the street, resulting in a chain reaction which struck the other car belonging to relatives helping the stranded car, according to authorities. A 5-year-old at the next automobile endured life-threatening injuries, even though a 4-year-old in that automobile suffered non-life-threatening accidents, authorities said.
