The star cannon for EPO: Get a long quarantine

The kenyan mellemdistanceløber Asbel Kiprop has been sentenced to four years in quarantine, for the use of doping.

The 29-year-old Kiprop is one of atletikkens absolutely great profiles with OLYMPIC gold in Beijing in the 1500-meterløb as the probably greatest achievement.

He has also three times been world champion in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Saturday, The International Atletikforbunds (IAAF) integritetsenhed that kenyaneren have got a quarantine period up to February 2022, after he has made a positive dopingprøve containing the epo.

The question dopingprøve was taken outside of the competition in november 2017.

Asbel Kiprop of integritetsenheden claimed that he was innocent, that there could have been tampered with the sample. It has, however, been rejected, and integritetsenheden do not believe that there is something to come for.

Kiprop is stripped of all his results and prize money from november 2017 to February 2018, from which the four-year-long quarantine takes effect.

As Asbel Kiprop was honored as the OLYMPIC gold medalist in Beijing he got the victory on the efterbevilling, when he crossed the finish line as number two after Bahrain-runner Rashid Ramzi. Later Ramzi cannon for doping.
