Holdener defended his world CHAMPIONSHIP gold: Excited

– Finally I was able to put together two good runs and take home the victory. It was at the right time, I am very happy to be able to defend my title, " says Wendy Holdener.

" I knew that I had to perform in slalomen and am so glad that I was a little bit ahead of Petra.

It was a tight battle even if the bronze, the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel won by four hundredths ahead of österrikiskan Ramona Siebenhofer.

" I'm crazy disappointed. I had expected more on the slalomen. I didn't dare really go for it, then it went not so fast, " she says.

– Holdener and Vlhova would have been difficult to beat and Ragnhild went great in the slalomen. But you never know.

Kombinationstävlingen has lived a secluded existence next to its more famous alpinsyskon. The rules have changed several times over the years, but also the current format, with a störtloppsåk and a slalomåk, is controversial.
