Grosjean faster than Kevin in Shanghai

The quadruple world champion in Formula 1, Sebastian Vettel, had the most speed in his Mercedes-races, as the riders Friday in Shanghai ran the first training ahead of the chinese grand prix on Sunday.

It writes the AFP news agency.

the German has otherwise been a poor start to the season. In åbningsløbet in Melbourne, he came in at fourth place, and in Bahrain he had to settle for a fifth place finish.

The 31-year-old Vettel explained on Thursday the mediocre start to the season with, that he does not yet feel completely at home with the new set-up in his Ferrari racer.

But during Friday's training, he found apparently the rhythm by running the fastest baneomgang.

the Question, then, is whether Vettel also is the fastest when the drivers during Saturday's qualification to compete for the startup locations for Sunday's race, which, incidentally, is number 1000 in the Formula 1 history.

The reigning world champion, Lewis Hamilton set the second best time at Friday's workout. The englishman was 0,21 seconds slower than its German arch rival.

Then followed Vettels young team-mate Charles Leclerc.

The 21-year-old frenchman ran an impressive race in Bahrain, where he lay for a sure win, before his Ferrari started to lose speed. He did, however, manage to get on the podium as number three.

Danish Kevin Magnussen was noted for the 11. best time in training, while his partner at Haas, Romain Grosjean was fractions of a second faster on a 10.-space.

The u.s. team has something to revanchere, after the two cars performed poorly in Bahrain. Magnussen finished as number 13, while Grosjean for the second race in a row had to be deleted.

After the first two races is Valterri Bottas (Mercedes) number one in the overall standings ahead of Hamilton. Then follows Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Leclerc and Vettel.
