Go after the OLYMPICS - and user Zlatan

When Sweden's capital city must make to The International Olympic Committee in an attempt to win gearing up to host the winter OLYMPICS in 2026, so would very much like to use the world-renowned soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the figurehead.

It explains the head of the Stockholm and the ski resort of åre's joint bid, Richard Brisius, in an interview.

- It would be great if Zlatan backed up. I know that he is busy, but I also know that he loves Sweden in a way that very few do, " says Brisius.

Ibrahimovic currently plays for the u.s. club Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer, the top fodboldlige in the UNITED states and Canada.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) determines gearing up to host the winter games in 2026 at a congress in Lausanne in June.

It looks for the moment seems to be a close race between the two værtsbud. It is only the Italian city of Milan, alongside the ski resort of Cortina d'ampezzo, which is back in the race for værtsskabet.

Prior to the final vote, the bid from Calgary in Canada, Turkish Erzurum, Sapporo in Japan, Graz in Austria and the swiss skisportsby Sion withdrawn for various reasons.

In Sweden has also in recent months of political chaos after the elections in september, created doubts about the værtsdrømmene.

However, after receiving support from both the Swedish culture and sports and the prime minister, Stefan Löfven, says Richard Brisius, that he is positively disposed.

- Things are moving forward. The meetings with the government and the relevant departments in the ministries goes well, he says.

According to the plan the olympics run primarily in the Stockholm and Åre, but ski jumping must take place in Falun, while a number of disciplines on the sled and the luge will be held in the Latvian town of Sigulda.
