Giant bomb: Pirlo new Juventus coach

Earlier on Saturday was Maurizio Sarri fired as head coach of Juventus after Friday's exit in the Champions League against Lyon.

Names such as Mauricio Pochettino and Simone Inzaghi was mentioned as replacements, but on Saturday evening, report the club is very surprising that Andrea Pirlo is the new head coach.

- Today's choice is based on the belief that Pirlo has it on the bench, to lead a strong and talented group to new successes, says on the club's website.

Pirlo has scored a two-year contract.

Andrea Pirlos name pops up completely out of the blue. He is only in the last month appointed coach for the under 23 team in Juventus, but moves so tremendously up in the hierarchy already.

in Addition to the under 23 team have Pirlo has never been the coach of any team at either the youth or senior level.

Pirlo has reportedly been meeting in the club headquarters this evening and has been presented shortly after.

As a player won the Pirlo WORLD cup 2006 with Italy, and he has several Serie A titles on his resume for both Milan and Juventus.

He stopped his active career in 2018, after a stay at New York city FC.
