He sprained the foot in last weekend's match, the foot swelled up. He has treated throughout the week, but it is not so good that he will take part in the match, said coach Janne Andersson.
He hopes that Ekdal may be called for Tuesday's qualifier against Norway at Ullevål.
– I hope it continues to evolve in the right direction, " says Andersson.
" Albin has been a key player for us in the games he played. But the one that comes in is also a good player. I'm not worried about who Janne is putting into place.
Apart from Ekdal are all the players in the squad available for the game. Janne Andersson is impressed by Alexander Isaac, training week.
"He has really shown that he is a player who keeps at this level and keeps the quality in this squad," says coach.
Janne Andersson is asked if he feels safe with younger players like Alexander Isaac, Ken Sema and Sam Larsson.
" We work on it the way we want to play and all players meet the requirements in a very good way. Players have different characteristics, and depending on how we want to implement the game weighs certain characteristics heavier. However, they have been with in the past several times, and know how to play. They are not for that I chansat but they are with because they are good enough.
