DMI gives out: the Sun is yellow

At the beginning of February was one of the country's most-visited websites a profound change.

the Dmi.dk changed namely the appearance from the classic look, which you have had for years, to a new look, as in about a year had been hidden away in a beta version.

However, the launch of the new website was far from just greeted with enthusiasm, and DMI was soon exposed to criticism. Among other things, because the classic femdøgnsprognose had been stored away, and because all of the icons on the website had the same colors.

After the new website has been in the air in just a little over a month, DMI has now chosen to listen to some of the criticism and make changes on the website.

So are you now no longer greeted by the blue icons everywhere on the dmi.dk.

- Many of the suggestions for improvements in the dmi.dk, which we have gotten from users, is all about the overview and not least the absence of the yellow sun. We listen to the many good and valuable suggestions, and therefore our weather icons got a layer of color to create a better user experience. The sun is, in short, become yellow, the clouds gray and the rain is blue, saith the DMI's communications director, Michael Skelbæk, in a news item on the DMI's website.

at the same time, DMI has now changed the local femdøgnsudsigt, so that in addition to being the colors also both are diurnal minimum and maximum temperature.

Femdøgnsudsigten is now folded together, so you can quickly get an overview, and then it is possible to fold every single day out, if you want to have more details.

- Many users have also missed to be able to see the snowfall several days in advance. Therefore, we have now added a graphical overview of the next 3 to 9 hours, says Michael Skelbæk.

the DMI has previously defended the elimination of the five-day forecast on the front with, that it was difficult to show the diverse weather throughout the country with one icon, why they now focus on showing the local weather.

Michael Skelbæk inform that you have not yet done the work to change the dmi.dk, and that the future will introduce even more improvements.

According to the DMI will the forthcoming changes to both bid on something that is clear to the user, while there will also be changes of a more technical nature which are not immediately as visible.
