"Hangin this particular hat and coat up. What a wonderful ride it has been," composed Wickersham, who depicted Ellie Bishop on the CBS drama. "This throw, this crew, are top notch. I can not say enough kind words about this class that I've had the joy of working together for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later. This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity. I have been lucky enough to be a part of a series where I got to appear and act and laugh and understand together with wonderful men and women. A moment in time I certainly won't forget. Thank you CBS and NCIS for including me in part of television history. Time goes fast.

In Tuesday's season-ender, it has revealed that Bishop had deliberately disclosed herself to be the leaker of a discreet NSA file a decade back so she would go undercover as a disgraced NCIS agent, operating for Odette (Elayn Taylor). In the finale, Bishop leaves after giving Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) a goodbye kiss, saying she'll be gone for quite a while.

Wickersham had been with the CBS crime procedural since Season 11.
