Today it is ten years ago that an earthquake in the Italian city of L'aquila and the surrounding areas devastated. People were 309 deaths and 10,000 buildings were destroyed. In the meantime, the rebuilding process has still not been completed and the city is still a decade later, still in the scaffolding.

In the early hours of 6 april 2009, L'aquila and 56 surrounding villages hit by an earthquake with a strength of 6.3 on the Richter scale. More than 300 people died and 70,000 were left homeless. The earthquake was also most of the historical monuments in the city were destroyed.
