In the surveys of other institutes in the past two weeks, the Union is between 27 and 31 percent, the SPD between 19 and 21 percent, the Greens between 16 and 19 percent, the AfD between 14 and 15 percent, the FDP between 6 and 7.5 percent, the left between 4 and 6 percent and all other parties together between 6 and 9 percent.

According to Forsa, the Ukraine war (68 percent) is by far the topic that worries Germans the most this week. On the other hand, interest in the energy crisis (only 22 percent) continues to decline significantly.

Despite good poll numbers for the CDU and CSU, only 21 percent of Germans believe that Friedrich Merz would be the right candidate for Chancellor of the Union in the next federal elections. On the other hand, 57 percent believe that other candidates such as Markus Söder, Hendrik Wüst or Daniel Günther would be better suited. Of the supporters of the Union parties, 40 percent think Friedrich Merz would be the right candidate for chancellor, 44 percent think other candidates are more suitable.
