"This was a mistake," Cruz told reporters outside his house Thursday evening, based on ABC affiliate KTRK.
O'Rourke, who's spent the past couple of days coordinating wellness checks for seniors in the aftermath of the week's Texas storm, slammed his Republican rival for leaving the nation because swaths of the populace went days without heat or electricity.
Speaking on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday, O'Rourke stated Cruz"is vacationing in Cancun right now when folks are freezing to death in the nation he was chosen to serve and represent."
About the "Within the Hive" podcast, O'Rourke advised the hosts,"I really don't understand just how much we had been expecting from him to start with. The people of Texas have stepped up and make me proud... that man needs nothing to do with authorities, or our form of this."
O'Rourke dropped the race to get a Texas Senate chair in 2018 to Cruz.
"I believe that you could be a dad and function as senator of Texas all at precisely the exact same time and produce a round trip, fast drop-off, fast excursion, and come home," Hannity stated on his series Thursday night.
Donald Trump Jr. revealed his support for Cruz, fearing that governors and senators disagree"with regards to job description and also what they can do to localized disasters"
In a statement to ABC News,'' Cruz said that he travelled to Mexico to shoot his brothers on a visit with their friends and to"be a fantastic dad."
After returning to Texas, he stated,"that I must confess, I began having second thoughts nearly the minute I sat on the airplane."
"On the 1 hand, all people who are parents have a duty to look after our children. ... However, I also have a responsibility I take quite seriously of battling the nation of Texas," Cruz said, adding,"I know why people are mad."
He left Texas since the nation was crippled with a strong storm which began Sunday, resulting in freezing temperatures and widespread power outages.
