LR deputies warn the President of the Assembly against "apologists for Palestinian terrorism"

The missive contains several inflammatory questions posed directly to Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly, by deputies who are members of the Republicans. "We solemnly ask you to react to such practices and to take all necessary measures so that never again organizations affiliated with terrorism can be invited to the National Assembly", write the parliamentarians. The co-signers believe that "credibility" and "respect for the values that underpin our Republic" depend on it.

If, in their open letter dated May 31, the elected officials underline in the preamble the “determination” of the president in “the fight against anti-Semitism and its new faces”, the tone of their questions is however very lively. Meyer Habib, a related LR deputy for French nationals abroad, initiated the document signed in particular by Éric Pauget, vice-president of the France-Israel friendship group and LR deputy for the Alpes-Maritimes, Michèle Tabarot (Alpes- Maritimes), Pierre-Henri Dumont (Pas-de-Calais), Michel Herbillon vice-president of the Foreign Affairs Commission (Val de Marne) or even Victor Habert-Dassault (Oise).

Right-wing elected officials express their questions at the invitation of non-governmental organizations "closely linked to Palestinian terrorism", also described as "apologists for Palestinian terrorism". They thus denounce hearings included in the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Committee for May 30 and June 2 and the programming of “several Israeli far-left” and “Palestinian” NGOs. They point in particular to "the UAWC, classified as terrorist by the State of Israel". They consider “inadmissible” the invitation of organizations which, according to them, “the links with terrorism are proven and documented”. "Worse ! they insist, how can the President of the France-Israel Friendship Group Aurore Bergé invite this same delegation?”

The elected officials also wonder about the lack of communication, noting that the office of the friendship group would not have been informed of these steps. "What is the logic of such an invitation, a few weeks after having rejected the lying motion for a resolution from the far left, from the same NGOs that accuse Israel of the crime of Apartheid?" denounce the “entryism” of these organizations within “international institutions” and “parliaments”.

Then, in a fairly clear allusion to macronism, they urge the President of the Assembly in these terms, specifying that the subject was invited to an LR group meeting: “Let’s be clear. In the fight against anti-Semitism and terrorism, there is no "at the same time"!
