Longtime Amtrak Enthusiast Biden to pitch infrastructure in train Ceremony anniversary Friday

Making the nickname"Amtrak Joe," that he took the train to operate every day as a senator.

The White House said it is a part of what it is calling the"Getting America Back on Track Tour," at which Biden will probably be projecting his $2 trillion infrastructure program, including billions in funding for rail improvements.

Biden was a significant proponent of Amtrak for a lot of his career, making him the nickname"Amtrak Joe."

Throughout his years like a senator,'' Biden took the train to get a nearly two-hour travel from Wilmington, Delaware, into the country's capital every day, then returning in the day.

In 2013, he said he had made the trip over 7,900 times. "I'm a railroad man," he explained.

There were also plans for Biden to trip an Amtrak train to Washington's Union Station to kick off occasions throughout his inauguration in January, however, the idea was scrapped because of safety concerns.

On Thursday, the day following his address to a joint session of Congress, Biden will talk in a"car rally" in Atlanta, Georgia, the White House announced last week.
