Former Vice President Joe Biden is set to make history on Wednesday as the 46th president of the United States, taking more than Donald Trump after a tumultuous four Decades.

Biden comes into office through an uncertain period for the nation on many fronts -- a raging coronavirus pandemic, months of protests over racial injustice and a bitterly fought election that ended in the siege of the U.S. Capitol just days ago. Biden will probably be the first president in over a century not to be greeted with the president Donald Trump is set to depart into his residence at Florida earlier in the afternoon.

Biden's journey from being a son of Scranton, Pennsylvania into the White House was a lengthy one -- serving as vice president to the first Black president for eight decades and then , a senator from Delaware for decades.
