ROME - "The national assembly of the party on Saturday, I will propose as president a young woman, Valentina Cuppi , mayor of Marzabotto. I think Valentina can best represent the path of the opening that we are building". It is announced in a note to the secretary-Pd Nicola Zingaretti . "If Valentina will be elected president, it will be flanked by vice-presidents Anna Ascani, and Debora Serracchiani, and for the first time at the top of the party there will be three women".
"I Think that Valentina Cuppi - says in a note, Nicola Zingaretti - can better represent the path of the opening that we are building together with all of our wonderful democratic community, to the members and to those who look from the outside to the work we are doing to involve people in the project of the rebirth of Italy".
"Valentina is a mayor and this represents a further step forward in the direction of more involvement of the administrators of the democratic life of the party, of all the mayors who each day grapple with the real life of the citizens and that will be the protagonists of the new Pd that we want to build. Valentina Cuppi. 36 years old, is from Sel, and has swept the last administrative elections in may 2019, with 71% of the vote. Married with a son, Cuppi has won the municipal leading an alliance of civic center, after a decade of experience in the administration, first as counselor with the delegation to the Peace, and to the Memory, so as vicesindaca and provincial councillor for Culture and Tourism.
Writes about himself the president in pectore: "my training, liceo scientifico-linguistic, a bachelor's degree in political Philosophy, a specialist in the philosophy of science and a Phd in political Science, I have always put at the service of the beautiful policy, which serves to administer this territory, rich of history, culture and values. I have been a teacher for many years in Marzabotto and now work as a professor of History and Philosophy. Work with children and adolescents offers a look that is particularly attentive to their needs, this as a volunteer, then in my role as a councillor, I wanted to create opportunities for cultural growth and the civic, with workshops, trips, encounters that bring them to become active citizens and conscious".
