Christer Lundberg and Mikael Brändström formed the kennel club for thirty years ago, but it is only now that Göteborgsduon got out their debut album. One reason for this is that they have had careers elsewhere (Lundberg as producer, Brändström Dark Tranquillity).
they waited for the right time to release the synthpop as it did when the group was formed, but with more of a contemporary Gothenburg indie-typical texts. Before the ”kennel club” is over, Lundberg has managed to mention the Street, Majorna, the älvsborg bridge, and ”your old boy's room in Linné”, while he also sung on “the black clouds over the town” and in this context, the almost inevitable ”us against the world”feeling.
In the best case, it sounds as if Depeche Mode and Henrik Berggren fan ended up around the same ”So much better”-table, in the worst as if the latter replaced by Albert & Herbert.
Best track: ”414”
