There lives an Aud in your neighbourhood also

Last week, we could read the strong the story of Aud (87) who couldn't remember the last time she had visit. And is there anything Aud not is alone, it is to feel lonely. 15-20 per cent of the population tells you that they are lonely.

most of us have known the loneliness in life. Whether we are new on the job, move to study in another city or when it will end with her boyfriend. It is the youngest and the oldest of us who are most lonely. We have heard the stories from those who have gone of the retirement plan and who later lose both the spouse and friends. We have heard the stories from those who have moved away from home for the first time and struggling to establish a new network.

The forgotten man Debate

Loneliness is a reduction and the fight against loneliness must also be lifted, political. Earlier in the year hosted the Party and No Isolation a rundebordsmøte together with Linda, Emily, Mina, Christian and Tommy. They have experienced loneliness for a long time, and gave valuable input on how we can work politically to combat loneliness.

At the meeting we agreed that Norway should have the ambition to be the country in the world with at least loneliness. That makes us as a society, but it means that each and every one of us must take responsibility to give space to an extra in social contexts.

People need other people Debate

Ap received in the autumn plural for the fight against loneliness is to be a part of the public health. This is a first important step to reach our ambition, but still needs very much more on the place.

On rundebordet designed we several demands to the government:

1. We need more transparency about the loneliness and there must be a national campaign to highlight the extent and consequences of loneliness. It is a public health problem that needs more openness and it is important that the taboo is broken down.

2. Frivilligsentralene must play a central role in the creation of social arenas in which you can use to build relationships over time. This requires more resources to frivilligsentralene, so that the offers are low-threshold and accessible to all, regardless of the economy.

3. All a friend in kindergarten and at school. Kindergartens and schools are important actors for social training and to create good communities.

Voluntary sector play a key role in the fight against loneliness. It's quite formidable how the Red Cross has recruited over 3,500 new besøksvenner for that matter if the Aud was known. Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up as besøksvenn. This says something about the potential that is in us, and the strong communities we can build together. All to with.
