Now she is president of the christian democrat organization in Svedala, sweden. For a little more than a year ago, she had never engaged politically.
The nine sites were the places that we think most about in the municipality. Our own village, our swimming lake. When you pointed out these places as suitable for this storanstalten so I felt that the politicians who then was in power, had a completely different vision for the Svedala than what I had. So then I felt that I had to engage me.
Together with her husband Martin Pråme Malmqvist she gave life to the dormant association KD Svedala.

who has woken up in Svedala, then fängelsefrågan came up on the agenda: During the last spring, the association Fängelsefritt Svedala. Some time later, was born out of the association also party Love Svedala. The sweden democrats have shifted on the issue and is now against the prison.
When the representatives of the association - in september last year - submitted a petition with 2.263 name to the municipal government, made it possible for the new political situation that the referendum would become a reality. A few days later got both KD and Love Svedala seats in the city council, after being pushed fängelsefrågan hard.
”No-movement” is multi-faceted. The association Fängelsefritt Svedala has information about 500 members. And just over 1,500 people is in the association's facebook page. Engagement is great – but the basis for involvement differs: the Prison is a threat to the natural environment. the

– It is just an egoistic feeling, if I may express myself so. Of course I have to have prisons, I want to have jails. But I don't want to have them where I live.

”Yes-side” has no active movement. But the arguments you hear:
A great plant with good long-term approach can provide job opportunities, both at the prison and in connection to it. the
Sweden need this – Svedala, sweden can contribute to a safer society.
And so the argument for a ”yes vote” that is heard the most clearly from a political perspective: the Referendum will at a stage where there isn't really anything to vote on. We're not going to say no than.
" I had hoped that the prison service had come further in their project. So that I could also take a position to their thoughts. I have nothing to take a position on than. But I will vote ”yes” for I want to hear what Probation has to tell. She has been involved in the process from the beginning, then the memorandum of understanding with the Correctional service was written on February 1, 2017. ”Svedala municipality are positive to the prison service intends to establish new kriminalvårdsanläggning”, it was, and the two parties said they agreed to set up a common project organization.

For the christian democrats Anja Malmqvist and Martin Pråme Malmqvist is both reason and feeling in the matter. When lokaliseringsstudien came they were miserable.
" We had once decided that this should be our place on earth. It is here we educate our children, it is here they get to run free – but we know where they are. All risked to be in danger, " says Martin Pråme Malmqvist.
" Our engagement was brought on the basis of a gut feeling. And then when we decided to operate this politically, we have tried to stick to objective facts. Put us into what it is that is at stake.
Anja Malmqvist dare not hope that it will be a ”no” in the referendum. Spouse Martin Pråme Malmqvist is more hopeful – but see that the battle can be longer than to the next Sunday. The referendum is advisory, the city council has not announced how the results will be used.
"I think it will be a no but it's not the end of the story," says Martin Pråme Malmqvist.Link to the graphics
