Swedish prosecutors are investigating IS genocide on the yazidier

Thousands of yazidier, mainly men and boys, were murdered by the ICE 2014 at the same time that thousands of women and girls were taken prisoner.

– Even if I don't want to go into individual cases, I can say that we have assisted european colleagues right to conduct interviews with persons who may be relevant in their investigations, and in the same way, we have received the support of the european colleagues, " says Reena Devgun.

– It is the result of their investigations, and our investigations will lead us through.

The Swedish prosecutors, however, have not yet come so far that they can account for individual investigations. Reena Devgun does not respond if a few suspected perpetrators have been identified, nor whether there are any links to the Swedish ICE-connected.

A difficult task is to find proof that keeps. But with the ICE cases have the possibility of facilitated, believes she.

"We want to get at the evidence and it is clear that evidence can come in the hands of the entities, authorities or organisations to which we actually have the opportunity to get it from," she says.

Leaving the perpetrators Syria increases the possibility of the prosecution further.

– It is very difficult to get out a suspect from Syria, then we do not have any opportunity to get legal assistance in Syria. So it is clear that if the ICE cases have been the person to leave Syria so increases our opportunities to access it.

" I can't answer. But I don't think there are any quick solutions. The big challenge is that evidence and where you have to be a certain patience to how it is collected, and how we can get ahead, " says Reena Devgun.
