Skivrecension: The Tallest Man on Earth makes low-key return

With a voice equal with a favourable approach as a flannel shirt and one of the most charming artist name to get in the indie - and folkgenren returning Kristian Matsson to albumformatet for the first time in four years.

It is a low-key reunion that hammered out, recorded and mostly produced in his own bedroom – as if he, after the more orchestral ”Dark bird is home” (2015), felt a need to search back to the stripped-down that characterized his earlier recordings.

the New album is an introspective collection of songs, an inner journey where the gentle alienation meets the high-flying metaphors against an urban backdrop. Everything is driven forward by his picking of the guitar and gentle horns and strings, which are like light veils over his musical heaven. In the title track, cracks the up, the atonement becomes visible, along with the persistent rain.

Best tracks: ”Hotel bar”
