Skivrecension: Kedr Livanskiy on bigeye exploration in the 90's club music

the Moscow technoprinsessa Jana Kedrina, aka Kedr Livanskiy, is back. After the wonderful lo/fi-raw ep ”January sun” and it is a little more luxurious debut album ”Ariadna” is ”Your need” is a step in a new direction. The synthesizers get even bigger place here than on the ”Ariadna”, and they have grällare, happier colors.

a problem, because it was the romantic notion that made Kedr Livanskiy so appealing, her unique mix of icy beats and spirited song. But her wide-eyed journey of discovery in the early 90's club music is as heartfelt and charming as always. Now technopop and breakbeats accompanied by cosy fluffy ambientackord and effective echoing dub.

The only thing I miss is a refrain that stabs at the heart, but the melodies on ”Your need” has other intentions.

Best tracks: ”Sky kisses (На танцполе)”
