It is third time lucky for Göteborgstrion Anton Hellström, Ossian Melin and Philip Aladdin to escape the present, – by to heckle it to pieces – at Teater Brunnsgatan Four. With ”Total strukturalitet” concludes the trilogy in 2017 began with the somewhat sensational ”Total security” and, last year, was followed up by ”Total freshness”.
the Highly recognizable: the set design feels so far away from the mäklarannons that it could be a home of-story about a hoarder. Here it is about the various references that the creators have accumulated through the years and doesn't seem to be able to get rid of. ”Total strukturalitet” unfolds around a seriebod in the Old town, where Anton Hellström is literally chained.
was decorated with the Tommy Berggren-portrait this time, it is Erland Josephson, which may hang in a place of honor. Though it becomes good on the west coast also – Björn Runges film ”If I turn me on” from 2003 is the top important point of reference. The male half of the cast of characters are among the most signed portraits in the serieboden.
Just as before, balances the ”Total strukturalitet” between kulturmanlig settlement and self-exaltation. It remains unclear why the ”If I turn” evokes the laughter of the fool. Perhaps the epitome of a självpåtaget seriously, as the the trio themselves are not able or dare to come near. In the same way is serieboden named after Malexandermördaren Jackie Arklöv just for that. The audience are in the loop since the old – it is enough to mention the ”performance artist” in order to attract a laugh.
and no longer as fresh, but at the same time, it is obvious that “Total”-the creators not only want to be funny guys. Ossian Melin tend to be biting and polemical, with his sights set on the sellouts in the culture, is emosminkad and literally hopsäckad. If the last part took the form of a bailout that would free art from the sponsringens era, it has now become time to wait for the downfall.
Themselves, they have mentioned Tarkovsky's ”the Sacrifice” from 1986, where Erland Josephson plays the leading role, as a source of inspiration. Certainly, this is also a barren tree, just as in Tarkovsky's exilfilm if kärnvapenångest and civilization collapse. ”In all my life I've been waiting for this,” says Josephson, in the movie, and Ossian Melin on the scene.
It's a little funny when you feel to it, which at the same time says something about this show's limited ability to stand on its own feet, without all the kulturmanliga crutches. Skrivkrampskänning and uppgivenhetssyndrom means rather just that the closing part is tråkigast so far.
