No, marka is not for everyone

Finally painting and free snow download. In the amazing winter weather and with Skiforenings claims about the nypreppede trails, we were ready for another cross-country trip in Marka.

We use the marka lot and turgleden is great among family small and large. The children at seven and nine years, rejoiced. Your plan was clear; the new mile was going into the Skiforeningens distansekort.

We got up early, leave a turplan and was an early adopter in Marka. The bag was packed with oranges, buns, cocoa in the thermos and Quick-Lunch.

When we came home was the entire 15 mile trip. The trip went relatively demanding, but beautiful terrain in the area around Tjæregrashøgda in Bærumsmarka. We got the feel of mastery, unity and turglede. A wonderful trip in almost all ways.

So why am I writing at the outset about a wonderful day of skiing, but only almost perfect?

As an alert reader surely has noticed, I write that I was on a trip with two skiglade children of seven and nine years. What I wrote, and that should have been less relevant, is that one of the children have physical disabilities. He has Cerebral palsy, which involves poor coordination, strength, and balance. But despite his physical limitations, he loved to ski and adds more than happy to out on longer ski tours.

Not only he is fighting like any other trail, but he also fights in and against your own body. To leave you many kilometres of ski tracks is kjempeprestasjon for every child, but especially impressive for a with a physical disabilities.

On our happy journey through the marka, we got, unfortunately, both experience the loud remarks and unkind actions. I got tilsnakk and my son was unworthy shut up, because he quickly got up again after a fall in trail or fell on the "wrong" place. People trampled over the skis of his, kicked away from the poles and pushed their way past.

Some came with loud remarks, that obviously was directed at us, rather than your own turfølge. Some pointed and laughed at us, then I plogde down the steepest slopes the best of my ability with the little boy between the legs. As if that is not a big enough defeat for a mentally healthy nine-year-old to stand between the legs of the mom?

Particularly disturbing is that this was a performance, which mainly was staged by adults turfolk. Adult people should be mature enough to either reflect on possible cause, rather than openly to self defence and ridiculing an innocent child?

Again we sit with a slightly emmen bismak by the fact that many probably believe that marka is not for everyone. Apparently løypevettreglene to show care and kindness above other skiers forgotten or ignored.

The same is the rule to be especially considerate and attentive to the above children. One looks away from the established løyperegler, it should in general keep to show the normal courtesy and respect. Yes, simply follow the normal manners.

Winter is thankfully not over and new ski will sign up. On this occasion, I invite all to lift their gaze up from the skiløypa and meet each other with good intentions. Show consideration, respect and act dignified on your journey through the marka. It is so real turfolk have behaved at all times and so we all should behave toward each other in marka, as well as other places in the community.
