On 29 april found the disease in three bee colonies on a farm, and the county of Västmanland has now gone out with a warning to beekeepers in the county.

the Disease kills bee larvae, and can do so, that entire bee colonies die out. It is caused by bacteria which will kill the larvae that smell bad in a special way.

and difficult to get rid of, because infectious agents can live up to 80 years, according to the Agriculture department. Beekeepers who discover the disease are obliged to notify and to take measures to prevent the infection spreading.

the Disease has previously been detected on a few occasions in Sweden.
