Dear all . Now that it is approaching christmas so is there something I have thought a lot about that I would like to share with you. I'm a big supporter of that people engage on Facebook and other social media. Here on Facebook can ordinary people without political positions and membership to engage in debates about many different topics, voters give input about what they think about issues, and we as politicians can get out our message directly to you, without having to be dependent on a newspaper or a TV channel will give priority to just the case.
Social media is a major advance for freedom of expression and democracy. Nevertheless, I sometimes quoted and worried about the direction the debate is about to take. People called the one and the other and are scared away from participating in the debate.Alternative to the radicalization Debate
Why do I need to notify . I do not accept that the Lan Marie Berg their unborn children are hetset, it is absolutely terrible. I do not accept that the country's prime minister called for landssviker or Tor Mikkel Wara is threatened and gets vandalisert their home. It is also not okay that the common people both in and outside the conservative party that is committed to a stricter immigration policy is hetset and hung out as racists and worse. Not only because it is wrong, but because it destroys the public debate, it scares people from engaging and there is a threat to democracy.
We should be able to talk about difficult topics and discuss demanding challenges, but we must not forget common manners. It is allowed to disagree. At the same time, one must distinguish between the case and the person.
It provides no good debate to hetse other. If we do not show each other respect in social media, I am afraid that we will see that the fewer to engage. So we risk to get a worse public debate, no one will be served with. It is something to think about for christmas presents.
