Hundreds of thousands protested in Hong kong – Chinese demonstrations continued for half a year

hundreds of thousands of hong kong people have shown today in the minds of the Chinese leadership against.

the demonstrations have been largely peaceful. The police have however arrested 11 people and seized guns from them.

protesters demanding free elections, which they themselves choose their leaders and their government, instead of Chinese name to them.

today's protest was exceptionally obtained the authority's permission.

the protests have continued now for half a year. They were conceived in June, when people took to the streets to oppose a law that would have allowed criminal suspects sent to China for trial.

Hong kong was transferred to British control to China in 1997. Since then, hong kong has been dominated by the "one country, two systems" principle, by which China has promised to guarantee hong kong freedoms, which the rest of China is not.

the demonstrations have organized a total of 900 pieces of them since the beginning of June. They are from time to time escalate to violence, and police have arrested 6,000 people.

Two weeks ago in the elections democracy-minded candidates received 90 percent of the vote. The election turnout was at all time high.
