A long-standing pay dispute between the trade unions Verdi and the DBB and the employers ' association BDLS has led to a week marked by punktstrejker at various airports in Germany. On Tuesday, extended the measure to the eight airports also served by flights from Arlanda and Landvetter.
Over 600 departures have so far been set when the security personnel leave their jobs, but Tuesday's expansion – until, at 20, makes the sum much greater. Only Lufthansa has pre-set 500 of its 640 departures on Tuesday, of which 28 would have gone to the other continents.
The union demands are mainly a uniform pay increase to 20 euros an hour for the 23.000 members, as they currently vary between 11.3 and 17,16 eur. The employer's counter-offers on the 6.4 per cent wage increase has not been enough and a provisional fifth hearing is scheduled for 23 January.
